Joel 2:13: "And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil."
One of the most amazing things about our God is that He is so gracious and compassionate. This is true even when we've "blown it big time." In fact, when we sin, God longs to forgive and cleanse, not condemn and punish. His grace rushes to greet our genuine heartbreak and heartfelt desire to change with forgiveness, cleansing, and redemption.
We may not be workers of iniquity, but we still "screw up" sometimes badly and knowingly. If we allow the knowledge of that mistake to linger un-faced and unforgiven it could and will quite likely keep our souls from entering Heaven. I do my best to seek forgiveness everyday for even the smallest thought that might work against my relationship with God. In addition to asking for the forgiveness of Christ we must also spend time in prayer and silence with Him in our secret place ...
In doing so we are inspired and compelled by The Spirit to do for Him by serving others in need of the grace and wisdom of Gods truth. When we condemn and push newcomers or elders with our own fashion of judgement that is an offense to God for it may drive away someone in dire need of Gods compassion ...
Tho it is a forgivable act, it is a guilt that can lay on your heart just as it does a mother who had her unborn child aborted. That is knowing the anguish of Gods heart, and that brings a genuine purity to our own hearts ...
A heart of gold is the way of the world. Seek for yourself the heart of God ...
