To all men and women into multiple relationships: Our body is not a computer, parts are not replaceable (you know what I mean) and history cannot be wiped. There is no factory reset. Everyone you have touched is in your system permanently and directly affects your behavior in other partnerships. Your "first time" is only supposed to belong to your spouse. Multiple relations is sinful and begets more sin. God only meant for us to be with one person for life. He only sees one marriage, not two or three. Its not called "eternal covenant" for ... err, in fact it is called "eternal covenant" for our health. Both spiritual, physical and emotional ...
Granted forgiveness is divine, and some circumstances are not always redeemable, but without a genuine heart for God, future relationships are real toss ups as to whether they are blessed by God. Just because life is suddenly "better" doesn't mean its God's doing. Satan will bless people too ...
It is always better and safer to stay in the one marriage and work out the problems under God's guidance. God hates divorce. Divorce is a sin brought on by other sin. When no sorts of abuse or drunkenness or drugs or no lives are in danger, even God wont bless simply abandoning a marriage just because one person changes or circumstances are too hard. Especially when the change is brought on by outside influences with intent to destroy.
Many try to use the words of Paul. His points are causes for separation while issues are resolved, not full out divorce if it can be helped. Yes violence and such things are a factor, but they are there by the devil's hands. Which is the whole point ... when someone committs certain immoral acts it is usually due to a shift in the doer's personality. They have been infected with something that changes who they are. Like with my wife. And its always a spiritual attack on the mind's thinking.
Most evil doers regret their actions with great remorse. Even repeat offenders. Its like an addiction. How many smokers or drinkers do you know who regret it every time? Paul had an affliction. This is a demonically controlled problem and Satan will use any means necessary to convince us to abandon someone we love ...
Hence, I will not abandon my wife knowing these things to be true ...
The one permitted reason for divorce is only that, permitted. Its not a command. Its only an option. Redeeming a marriage is always Gods will no matter the reason for separation. Its where humility and forgiveness come into play. Second and third chances and so on are very Biblical.
A couple can be separated and still married. They can date and grow together again slowly. Of course if things like child abuse and such matters are an issue then it does change the rules, but only in our minds, which again we must consider the source of the atrocity ...
Divorce and it's causes are a more frequent dilemma because the church has failed in it's mission. The ministry has gone astray from proper preaching and teaching. I have said this: "to destroy a nation, tear down the family structure" well where do families go for strength, encouragement and leadership? Church! You destroy a nation by destroying family values, you do that by infiltrating the church with worldly thinking and behavior ...
This is the reason I have made the statement many times that the corruption in the church has brought the destructuon of our country, not the government. If we were doing our jobs the government would be powerless ...
