Leviticus 26: "Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God."
We have been indoctrinated so badly that we do not see even the Cross as an idol. We accuse the world of using it, wearing and representing it wrongly, but it already is a wrongly used representation of God. Do you not see crosses mounted up in yards and on church grounds? Do you not see them set up on buildings and even displayed with a statue of a false image of Christ? Do you not sometimes bow down in front of them? Do you not see some folk look up at them as they assume to speak to God?
Do you not realize that an idol is still an idol whether you worship it or not?
The cross is a symbol of death, not life. There was no cross at the Resurrection, only at the death. If you claim you wear it to represent what Jesus did for you, then you are doing exactly what the commandment says not to! The cross was nothing more than a post or tree, likely more in the shape of a letter Y or T in its structure of use, and is the symbol of suffering and shame, used as a way of execution and torture, and we use it as something to represent God! Putting the church buildings, at the top of our Babel, pagan like steeples, on the front of pulpits, behind the platform, on the bibles ... Its blasphemy. Its an idol object rejected by Gods 2nd Commandment. The justified use of it is utter disprespect towards Him ...
Its usage is no better than people saying "Keep Christ in Christmas" Christ was NEVER in Christmas to begin with! Do you people not read your bible? The pagan holiday existed thousands of years before Christ came to earth! Jeremiah 10 ... The expression "Merry Christmas" means The Dismissal or Denial of Christ!
This commandment unfortunately does include animals, people and definitely fantasy creatures ... Trust me because I used to collect horses and dragons and many other things ...
People flock to see the Statue of Liberty which was in fact built by the Freemasons. Mount Rushmore has to be one the greater defiant offenses to God man has made against Him. Each of those Presidents were also known Freemasons, Lincoln was not a Freemason. He did apply for membership in Tyrian Lodge, Springfield, Ill., shortly after his nomination for the presidency in 1860 but withdrew the application because he felt that his applying for membership at that time might be construed as a political ruse to obtain votes. He advised the lodge that he would resubmit his application again when he returned from the presidency. He also kept slaves ... (his treatment of them is not the current issue) Washington D.C. also is filled with great structures ... reminds me of Egypt ...
... Toys and Sports cards and Figurines and Paintings. The list goes on ...
Deuteronomy 3:15-18: "Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth"
I am not going to attempt to rightly claim that if you posses certain things here and there that it means you going to Hell. Believe me I like these items too ... That is something that I leave between you and God and your relationship with Him but consider the prophecies:
Ezekiel 14:3 "Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?"
Leviticus 26:15 "But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; and if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague (fever), that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. and I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you. And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate." Should I go on?
There is much more to this study series still to be revealed ...
Exodus 20:4-6 States the following: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them ... "
Notice it says to "not bow down to them" and "NOR serve them" which means you do not have to serve them or worship them for them to be idols. The usage alone is idolatry ... again with emphasize on the Cross ... you sometimes bow down in front of crosses. You bow down in front of an object that was used to sacrifice the Messiah, the structure that like the "Christmas tree" also existed long before He came in the flesh ...
You can try and justify these things by saying these laws were written to the Jews of that time. History has repeated itself time and again over thousands of years, all reverting back to the Bible because no one (especially the leaders) listens, and we are a part of that same viscious cycle. Need I remind you that Christ enforced these same commandments only removing the use of animal sacrifice and giving us a way to salvation and living according to Biblical Law ...
What many of you are so unwilling to accept is that it does not matter what YOUR reasons are for using, having or doing something because its not about YOU ... this is about God and respecting or rejecting His word ...
