The shelter in Richmond, Indiana is a slave camp in training. Like most shelters, but its worse than some shelters I've seen. They take away your I.d. and any electronic devices. So you can't stay in touch with people or listen to your music. I can't even read the bible cuz the rooms dont have lights. And I have a Bible on my device ...
Yet they sit there on their phones and laptops and play on them like they're better than you ...
I didnt expect that. No other shelter I've seen takes your stuff away and your i.d. and "owns" over night like that. I can't even leave my sleeping bag there so I had to toss it this morning ...
Even schools don't do that to kids anymore.
Id rather go to the Salvation Army in Indianapolis. At least the one I stayed at in Oklahoma City didn't take away your freedom. I assume theirs is much the same. They have a later curfew too.
If I don't find work soon I may just go to the shelter in Indianapolis. Staying at this one and using the bus schedule just cuts my day down to less than half and once I'm there all my freedom is gone. I can't exist like that. It was nightmarish enough the last time. This is worse. I can't believe how people out there just embrace the lifestyle and dont put much effort into getting out of it. Only thing you're allowed to do is sit stare at a tv. I stayed in the other room in my bed the whole time. Then all the snoring kept me up half the night.
Trust me there is nothing positive about homeless shelters. People should read other messages and commentary I've written about them. They are government training facilities for concentration camps. Some of the larger ones cram 100's of people into one shower room all at once ... sound familiar? They regulate your whole life. They don't try to help you, they control you ...
People, Christians don't understand this. Most don't know how to be like the Good Samaritan or like Jesus anymore ...
Ive said before I'm against them. These are the reasons why.
Not to mention the pain I'm in being there instead of with my wife and daughter thru the holidays. This is what my wife has abandoned me too after promising me she never would!
