2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV) "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition"
In 70 A.D. after the Roman armies destroyed the city of Jerusalem and its Temple intense prejudice against Jewish beliefs and customs spread like wildfire throughout the Roman Empire. Following the deaths of Paul and John that prejudice led to the first great "falling away" from the New Covenant teachings ...
Before that destructive event, the predominate gentile congregations raised up by Paul were "imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea" *1 Thessalonians 2:14* They followed the same spiritual way life the Jewish Christians practiced.
After the fall Jerusalem living that way of life became more difficult. A higher level of faith and courage was needed that many converts did not have. As a result, worldy prejudices against all things Jewish began to entire gentile Christianity. Distorted views of Paul's writings from "untaught" and "unstable" leaders began to undermine the way of life and pattern of worship that former gentile Christians had copied from their Jewish brethren *1 Peter 3:16*
From the last part of the first century thru the fourth century, the part of the Christian religion given attention by historians accepted dramatic changes. A new concept of progressive revelation allowed church leaders to revise doctrine to suit "their" perceptions of church needs, instead of adhering strictly to teachings handed down by the apostles. The entire way of life taught by the apostles were steadily abandoned until what Christianity bore little resemblance to the original apostolic teachings.
Jesus knew that this distorted, law rejecting form of Christianity would emerge. He warned in *Matthew 7:22-23* "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" As I have also repeated many times ...
Those few of us who remain faithful to the teachings of the apostles consistently use the Scriptures as the foundations for how we live. Thus the Church that Jesus built has remained a little flock *Luke 12:32* "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." (tho we are spread out few and far between)
If you are alone in standing on the Complete Fullness of God's Word while many are collected in the buildings standing proudly in their selfish views and ways denying and rejecting the original teachings, then you are in the right with God.
Our past few generations are not the first to have "changed with the times" and became corrupted and indoctrinated with false teachers, pagan holidays, vain ignorance of standards, being baptized, idol images and structures, satellite or cable in your homes and ultimately knowing nothing of real Spiritual Warfare ...
The Bible commands us to separate ourselves from you to avoid being unequally yoked. Yet there so few of us, so far apart that we are unable to assemble in our own groups the way it also was depicted in the Bible ...
Lord give me a flock that will hear and take heed to Your truth ...
