Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1 Peter 4:16
I like how some of these so called "Christians" think they have it rough when they have stable work, nice cars, and decent homes. Or how they think they have personal problems when there really isn't anything that unusual happening to them and they have plenty of friends around them who are always there ...
These people know not what true suffering is. Being alone with nothing and no one is not something they have ever known. Being rejected by their family and forgotten by their friends isn't a pain they have ever dealt with. Being out of work directly due to persecution has never come across their tables. Neither have they ever had their lives threatened for the sake of their beliefs ...
Many people who have gone thru any of this, but live better now, have become arrogant and forgotten where they came from. Many others are responsible for their own suffering but blame the world.
It is preached to be delightful in God even thru our suffering, but I can tell you from experience (and God also understands this) that is something much easier said than done. I am not telling you its impossible, I'm telling you that its not going to be a common thing to see. If you go to church and see all these individuals talking about their alleged problems (usually petty issues) and then they are all excited and happy, loudly and openly praising God, it could be they have had a victory, but it could also be that they do not have a true relationship with God and are likely (even unknowingly) getting their "blessings" from another source ...
Simply put, if your life or experiences do not line up with the Bible, you are likely not right with God, but with Satan, and may not even realize it because you don't pay attention and you enjoy the comforts you have too much to risk losing them over little things like truth and salvation ...
Don't get me wrong. I'm sure God blesses us with certain things in our lives, but it is how you maintain those things and how grateful or ungrateful you are for those things that will reflect on Him in the end ...
