"He who spareth the rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him correcteth him betimes" (Proverbs 13:24) and "Withhold not correction from a child: for if thou strike him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and deliver his soul from hell." (Proverbs 23:13-14)
What people most misunderstand is that this does not permit us to be abusive parents. An occasional spank on the rear or slap on the hand is not abuse. Its discipline.
Ephesians 6:4 "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."
As children are supposed to honor their parents, parents also have a side of that covenant to uphold. Which again means we are not to be abusive towards our kids. I never believed in using the belt, but I know in some cases it may have been a necessary last resort. Some kids just need it, but I do not believe in the old concept of taking the child out to the woodshed, nor do I respect the action of publicly spanking a child. Myself, I do not walk around in the stores and public places with a child throwing a fit, screaming and crying ... I will leave before forcing others to tolerate that. It irritates me when I see others doing it and it is a public disturbance ...
Discipline of some sorts is to be done in the home as not to encourage talk from others. Its really no one else's business. Unfortunately we are in an age where even the slightest tap on the wrist can get Child Protective Services called on us. Of course there are times when that is needed, but ironically, most abusive homes are not the ones who get into trouble. Wouldn't you know it, its probably a Christian family who is accused of child abuse ...
Mark 13:12 says: "Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death."
Throughout time this has occurred, but in our modern age young children and teenagers alike can sometimes possess a bad spirit in them that causes them to behave horribly towards their parents. Many times getting them falsely accused of abuse and mistreatment. As well as acting very sinister towards their siblings and even friends ...
This is a sensitive matter that goes both ways, back and forth and every which way possible, but there is less discipline in society now than there ever was. More children rebelling, sitting at video games and TV for the convenience of keeping them quiet. As a result there is more violence, bullying, school shooting, and utter disrespect towards the general adult population. This also applies to the modern parent who doesn't know any better due the indoctrination that has progressed over the last 30 years. Mostly from music and television influence. Why? Because the Satan run government has taken society under it's control to manipulate these things into happening ...
I realize the Bible predicts these comings, but WE as a people have still just sat around and allowed it to happen. WE are as much responsible as the guilty for letting our minds be so easily maneuvered and controlled so that all WE do now is sit and watch TV and shake our heads at all the terrible problems in the world ...
... ever notice a pattern in my messages that almost everything leads to Satan's manipulation or government conspiracies and Illuminati seduction? There is a reason for that. Many of you are too scared to open your eyes to the reality because you know what you will see and that it will compel you to change who you are. It will force you to step out of your comfort zones, to realize the world around you is not going to change itself. The biggest fear I think is the loss of friends, even family ...
I know what its like to have to bite my tongue and to keep myself from taking action at times when I really want to. Sometimes I believe I failed in choosing to avoid a situation. Its a vicious cycle and it is a feeling of being trapped. Prayer is never the last resort, but often times it is the only action we can take ...
What we must remember is that God encourages action as well as prayer. We cannot always allow fear to keep us from doing the right thing. Especially for our children's sake ...
