1 Corinthians 3:3
"For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?"
In my previous short message titled "We Love To Hate" I spoke of love, hate and forgiveness. Let me ask you this: Are there any wars that have ever improved anything? Wars are started from petty disputes that can usually be settled with just a few words. Most wars are started because someone wants it and does anything to make sure it happens ...
There is a war between the saints ...
The Corinthians boasted in their wisdom, giftedness, and tolerance. But, no matter how gifted a church, no matter how full of earthly wisdom, no matter how tolerant, if the people of that church are caught up in petty arguments, cliquishness and ugly quarrels, they are immature. Rather than being a place where Christ is known and shown, it is just another gathering of human foibles.
Now of course there are those who really want nothing more than to watch the world burn. Men with no agenda or conscious ... We are saints of God and yet, many of us act less dignified and more aggressively than the enemies who would see us destroyed.
Many of these men of evil keep a very calm demeanor. Others of course are extremely temperamental, but thats another matter.
My issue here is with the spite and malice that occurs over doctrine and morals sometimes right inside the sanctuary. (or on these social networks) That is what the military would call a "foothold" situation where the enemy has infiltrated the base and has taken over, believe me I have seen it even among the Pastors ... We give Satan that very same foothold when we argue, gossip, and hold to a stubborn pride even upon learning we are wrong ...
We also give the same power of influence when we deny and reject any part of Gods word. You must remeber that God will bless even unsaved people who's prayers are genuine ... He is that gracious and merciful! That does not give you the right to ignore His teachings and laws, nor does it give you any authority to force your opinion over truth onto anyone!
The behavior alone is uncivil and ungodly. Even if you are right and what you say lines up with Scripture, it is your attitude about it that will make or break another's soul ... especially your own!
