Matthew 3:1-2 (KJV) "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand"
These words sound strange in a world that is afraid to tell or hear the truth about sin, wickedness, and evil. Yet every lost person desperately needs to repent, to change his or her heart and life, seek after God, be baptized into His fold and live for Jesus. Yes, salvation is given to us by God's incredible grace. On the other hand, grace that leaves us unchanged is not true grace. Grace not only forgives us through Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross, but it also liberates us from the empty and destructive life without God and his guidance.
Romans chapter 6 talks of grace, but it also mandates that we live in obedience to Gods ENTIRE word. Grace is not a license to sin, rebel or reject any part of His statutes. I could throw Scripture after Scripture at you enforcing the baptism, the Sabbath, idolatry, standards and any other Holy Law that we do very much live under in order to exist under Gods grace ...
Proverbs 28:9 "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination."
You all know I am perfectly willing to throw the Book at you. I recommend you catch up on previous messages regarding these issues as well as ALL issues in the Bible. There is not one part of Gods word that I will ever ignore or agree to any justification for living against it. Because I want very desperately to be removed from the suffering of this world, not to end up in a far worse place of suffering, but to be written in The Book Of Life.
My heart greatly desires to one day hear these words " ... Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord" *Matthew 25:23*
Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."
You see, Gods grace is sufficient, but rebellion is insufficient for your soul. Living by just a few things (everything in Gods word) in faith is your salvation ...
