Dont believe entertainment and technology are taking over our churches? Seen any IBC concerts lately? Seen any kids with the old fashion coloring books in the pews recently? No there are flashing lights and ipods and hand held video games being allowed in the sanctuary, sometimes even during service.
Even ministers sit up on the platforms sending tweets and texting. What kind of example is that to young people? ... I dont even care much for the overhead screen being used for scriptures. Open your Bibles!
I find so much use of tech and devices to be distracting and disturbing and it gives the devil alot of freedom to keep us from the proper hearing of the word.
Too many people follow the celebrity of the man speaking rather than the word from which he is teaching. Standards are becoming more and more obsolete and un-enforced, especially during service ...
There has become a total lack of disregard and respect for God in our daily living. We allow too many things to pass us by as all we do is shake our heads at it and let it be. Our government is a great example of our growing passivity!!!
(((Perhaps my greatest "pet peeve" and disgust is smokers and the horrific litter of their sickening habit all over the ground everywhere I go, and noone doing anything to stop it. Gardens, sidewalks, yards, parks that don't cleanup, kids playing around them, the animals getting near them and even picking them up only to spit them back out because even they know its bad)))
I say "we" because I am no less guilty of these things ...
Its how we conduct our relationship with God in our own private time that He most values from us ... the rest is leading and living by example ...
