Leviticus 19:28 "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord"
Many people get tattoos for the justified purpose of remembering someone who has died ... Makeup is body art and vanity! It also is made from the killing of animals!
Lately I have been seeing these advertisements for body art being sold to children. There has always been face painting and coin machine fake tattoos around, but this commercialization of such things along with accessories, finger nail decor and certainly make up kits for young girls has caused many conflicts in the homes of Christian families. Which is basically what it is designed to do ...
Truly Christian parents ought not be allowing their children to participate in body art or body painting at the fair or at church functions as it only influences them to desire tattooing their bodies later in life ...
You can argue that, these were given specifically to the Jews, but again I enforce Jesus', as well as His apostles teaching that Gods law of holiness living is for Jew, Gentile and ALL nations ...
And the New Testament talks of our bodies being temples to represent Him ...
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
When you look like the world, you are not separate! Selfish vanity has no place in God's Kingdom ...
