1 Thessalonians 5:23
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
In the first 2 chapters of Genesis we are shown when God created man. He made 2 preparations. The first was that He created man in His image and according to His likeness. Because of this man resembles God in many aspects as I have spoken of previously in my message "Idolatry (Part 1)" ... The various aspects of man's expression such as pleasure, anger, sorrow, joy, preference and choice, whether it be his emotion or dispostion, express God to a certain degree and are miniatures of all that is in God. Keep in mind this speak of a righteous man of moral being ...
Genesis 1:26 says: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
Another preparation was that God created a spirit for man to possess in the depths of his being. Of the countless varieties of life in the universe, only man has a spirit. In all of Creation God created a spirit for us because He wants us to receive Him. The same way He designed our bodies to have a stomach in order to take in food to nourish our bodies, He in the same manner, having a spirit within us, can receive God into us making Him our very constituent. Tho, many of us have taken utterly dangerous advantage of this for selfish desires ...
Genesis 2:7-9 states: "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil."
Whe God created man to be "HIS" vessel, He made these preparations to be like Him and to give us spirit that we may receive Him. It is in man's spirit that the contact between God and man is made. God enters into man to be his content, and man becomes God's vessel to express Him outwardly. Thus God's eternal intention is fulfilled in man ...
Yet many of us have accepted God into our lives merely as a way of obtaining "worldly" and "earthly" blessings. Thereby attempting to live for both God and mammon. I am sorry my friends but that is not living for God on any level. That is living entirely for the devils purpose. God did not entrust His Tree Of Life for it to be corrupted by mans self serving wants and wishes.
God sanctifies us in our human form by taking possession of our spirit through regeneration by spreading Himself as the life giving Spirit from our spirit into our souls to saturate and transform our soul. Also by enlivening and transfiguring our mortal body by His power. And yet we have corrupted that power ...
By His santification of us God preserves us complete. He keeps our spirit, soul and body perfect. Our spirit cannot remain perfect if we continually ignore His laws. Our soul cannot remain saved if we consistently live according to our own convenience. Nor can our physical bodies remain perfect if we damage its natural appearance with self serving vanity ...
Hebrews 9:14 "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Through the fall (at the tree) and our own choices today, our body was ruined, our souls was contaminated and our spirit was deadened. Only in God's FULL salvation is our entire being saved, made complete and perfect. For this God is preserving our spirit from any deadening elements, our soul from remaining natural and old and our bodies from ruin of sin.
The FULL salvation being not only in the baptism, but in living by every word of God rejecting nothing ...
Such a preservation by God and His thorough santificiation sustains us to live a Holy and mature life that we may one meet the Lord in His return. Paul implemented these things as an incentive, a goal and a warning. He not only lived by these words he encouraged believers under His care to do the same ...
If we wish to contain God the way in which it is truly meant, we must first allow Him to contain us ...
